Little Seeds Reading Groups – Little Seeds

Little Seeds Reading Groups

Reading with comprehension is the gateway to quality education. Little Seeds Reading Groups promote reading with a fun, creative, interactive and intergenerational approach. Reading group facilitators undergo a simple training programme and read to approximately 10 children once a week.

Little Seeds Reading Groups are easy to manage, with minimal restrictions on registration and legislation. It is an ideal platform for relationship building in a community or congregation.

Functioning of a reading group

How to get started with a Little Seeds Reading Group:

Identify 7 or more volunteers for training, and arrange a meeting with interested parties in order to discuss the following:

  • Select a champion who can co-ordinate the arrangements and act as liaison.
  • Identify potential reading groups and indicate which age groups will be read to.
  • Inform your local library of the planned initiative in order to obtain their co-operation for the provision of block loans and presentation of projects.
  • Contact Little Seeds to organise training and further assistance.
